In Canada & Québec, we can say both “Bon anniversaire” and “Bonne fête” to signify happy birthday. In Europe, “Bon anniversaire” is usually the accepted form (with “Bonne fête”meaning “Happy holidays”). In Québec the birthday song is adapted from their unofficial anthom, written by a famous singer named Gilles Vigneault, called "Gens du Pays". Vigneault is a separatist, meaning he wishes for Québec independance, and his song is a battle cry of sorts for Québec independance.
We'll apprendre the lyrics in class lundi! |

Today...
-we wrote interim reflections about ourselves in our learning over the past month. We wrote about our participation, our learning, our goals & what we can do better, gave some examples of how we feel and of what we have learned, and handed them into Mme Jarvis.
-We learned a new song "Y'a un chat" by Charlotte Diamond (you can find it on YouTube), and watched three funny videos from the class blog videos in past weeks: The Être Rap, ER verbs à la Miley Cyrus, and "15 French questions you need to know!" (Remember learning about Paying for public loos in Europe?)
-Over the weekend you need to check your answers for the adjectives sheet, and notice trends in how the endings change. I have put the answers below, along with some very good explanation. You can right-click the image to "View in new tab" and then print them if you find them useful.
-I also suggest you read carefully through another teacher's lesson, because it's good to get a lesson a second time from someone else.
This teacher's website is fantastique! http://lecoursdefrancais.weebly.com/les-adjectifs.html

Je m'appelle Daniel! J'ai 12 ans, j'aime faire de l'escrime! J'habite à Vancouver, à l'ouest du Canada. J'aime aussi écouter beaucoup de musique et jouer au soccer.C'est quoi ton sport préféré? Quel est ton animal préféré?
J'espère reçevoir ta lettre bientôt!
